Soccer Goalie

Most of today's soccer games were canceled, but a couple of fields had dried out enough to play on. The U8 teams were among the lucky few, so Norman had a game this afternoon. He spent three of the quarters in goal, which is where he wanted to be. He's miserable at offense, decent at defense, and really likes playing goalie. His team was stronger so he didn't see much action, but he saved everything that came his way and made a few spectacular clearing kicks. Simon had the good camera at the racetrack, so Norman is just a tiny figure in the few pictures I took while he was on the field.

Here's a shot where you can tell it's him, enjoying a post-game juice pouch. If the sun weren't behind him, you could see his flushed cheeks and sweaty hair.

You may have noticed that Norman and Boo both have black jerseys. They're not on the same team; he's on the U8 "Black Knights", while she's on the U5 "Black Panthers".
