McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center - trip post 6

We flew in and out of the airport in Manchester, which means we got to spend some time visiting with GramMarion on our trip. Our flight out was in the late afternoon, so we met up with her at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord for a few hours on Tuesday. We visited there years ago when it was much smaller (just the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium back then, I believe). There were many more displays to check out this time.

The kids enjoy learning about the space shuttle (in fact, we've been in a full-sized replica at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida). Here's Boo in front of a model, while Simon and Norman check out some information in the background.

Here's Norman attempting a simulated shuttle landing. He succeeded several times when it was in "easy" mode, where at least one of the three dimensions (pitch/roll/yaw) is handled for you.

Simon took a group photo of me and the kids with GramMarion as we were leaving.

Hopefully on our next trip north we'll be able to spend a bit more time in New Hampshire.
