I bought an
Ice Cream Maker attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer (not recently mind you, it's been sitting in its box gathering dust since last summer) and decided to try it out with the kids. This took a bit of advanced planning since we don't usually have cream in the fridge and the bowl needs to be frozen for at least 15 hours first. We made basic vanilla, which the kids ate "soft" for afternoon snack (with sprinkles):

We put the rest in the freezer and ate it "hard" for desert -- as brownie sundaes, with chocolate syrup and whipped cream too. The brownies were a box mix, lest anyone mistakes me for Super Mom.
No ice, no rock salt, no churning, yes yummy!
