The second grade is finishing their "Greek Week" celebration (the culminating activity for studying Greek mythology all year) with a Greek Feast at lunchtime today. The kids are all supposed to dress as a Greek god/dess. That's easier than it sounds, since the teachers sent home instructions for how to make a Chiton (a tunic of sorts worn in ancient Greece) out of a pillowcase. Here's Norman/Apollo heading out to school this morning.

I used a king-sized pillowcase for longer coverage. There's silver stitching at the neck and armholes, and the bottom has a modified Greek Key pattern that Norman chose from some we found online (added using iron-on transfer sheets for the printer).
