Dan the Animal Man

I decided to do a separate post on the birthday party's animal show, since I needed time to sort through all my photos. It was a Wild Animal Encounter, presented by an animated exotic animal trainer named Dan. He brought out four different animals for the kids to see, told a bit about them, answered questions, then let the birthday girls have a closer look. It was a very cool show!

First was Prickles, an African Porcupine (she weighed 55 lb!):


Second was an owl, whose name and species I can't recall. Here he's demonstrating how silent their wings are when flapping:


Third was Lisa, a White-handed Gibbon (wearing a diaper, which needed to be changed during the show):



And last, was Augie, an American Alligator (sharp claws, sharper teeth):
