Snow Day

The weather forecast for today was for one to four inches of snow. In anticipation of the inclement weather, school was canceled at about 11:15 pm last night. At which point I started hoping for snow, because I really hate snow days when the snow decides not to put in an appearance (which occasionally happens here in the south, since they're very cautious when it comes to school cancellations). Fortunately we awoke to find snow on the ground, and it continued falling lightly through most of the morning. We all bundled up and headed out to play after breakfast.

It wasn't very sticky snow, so not very good for snowmen or snowballs (though we did throw handfuls of lightly packed fluff at each other). It was just deep enough for snow angels though.

It's supposed to freeze up again overnight and be icy in the morning, so school is delayed by two hours tomorrow. Then it's supposed to warm up a bit and the snow will quickly disappear. The kids will be disappointed, as they're already saying they want more snow. I was happy to see it, but will also be happy to see it go.
