Christmas Day

Christmas was just the four of us, which was a big change from having lots of family here in 2007 and being in England with lots of family in 2008. We started the morning with almost-homemade cinnamon rolls (I used King Arthur Flour's mix), which has been our tradition for years. They make Christmas morning festive with red and green sprinkles and a tree-shaped pan.

After breakfast and clothes (because "blessed are the dressed"), we descended on the tree for a frenzy of unwrapping. We did manage to slow the kids down a bit to actually check out some of their presents. Here are some pictures from our morning (including a couple of "bow on forehead" shots):

We played with gifts for most of the afternoon, then finished the day with a fondue dinner -- cheese then chocolate. Stuffed!
