Featured Hedgehog

Norman is the "Featured Frog" this week in his class (the Rockin' Ribbits). Lea-Frances, Simon, and I joined him for lunch in his classroom yesterday ... along with Spike. Norman's classmates were all fascinated with Spike, who was well-behaved but terrified. I wore gloves in case he decided to bite me (he's drawn blood in the past and I wasn't sure how he'd respond to the chaos), and held him so the kids could touch/pet his back. He didn't even really raise his quills, but I know he was scared since he pooped everywhere. He responds the same way when bathed, giving the term "scared sh**less" real meaning.

These pictures were taken by Norman's teacher at the end, just before I put hedgie back into his little travel cage. He looks remarkably relaxed, all things considered.
