The kindergarten classes at DA have four themed country parties during the course of the year. The first is a Mexican Fiesta, which happened today. When Norman was in kindergarten I helped plan/host this party, but this year I was just an observer. The class spent weeks learning about Mexico and preparing for the big event -- they made serapes and rebozos to wear (the school provides the sombreros), "Tree of Life" candle holders and paper poinsettias for decoration, and a pinata shaped like a teddy bear. You can see the pinata behind/above Boo here.

Other moms were making "first margarita" jokes when I snapped this picture. Fortunately it was just lemonade (though we did make alcohol-free strawberry margarita slush for the class two years ago). You can see her candle holder in front of her placemat here.
