First Basketball Game

Norman is old enough to play recreational basketball this year (the same league that does baseball & used to do soccer before a different group took that over). Due to a communication snafu we missed the first practice, so he only had one practice before the first game. Fortunately he's shot baskets in P.E. before. Unfortunately he has the same lack of offensive drive that he did in soccer (but of course in basketball everyone on the court needs to play both offense and defense). He's having fun and I'm sure he'll improve as the season progresses. Simon took pictures at today's game - Norman is #7 on the green team.










We also bought him new sneakers for basketball, his first pair of shoes with laces since he was little. He's doing okay with the tying (after all, he's eight) but tightening the laces first poses a challenge. I'm sure this will also improve as the season progresses.
