Baseball Tournament

Finally, some pictures of Norman playing baseball! The regular season ended last week, with the Green Machine 4-4-1. This age division has an end-of-season tournament, at most two games since there were only four teams this year.

The Green Machine played the "grey" team (whose name I never did catch) on Monday, who they were 2-0-1 against in the regular season. The team had a great game, winning 10-4, and Norman had a great game as well. His managed a double his first time at bat, driving in two runs in the process (alas the next batter left him on base with the third out). His second time at bat he singled and eventually scored, seen here. Norman's statistics: AB 13, H 7, 1B 4, 2B 3, BA .538, R 2, RBI 4.

By winning their game on Monday, the Green Machine advanced to the finals on Friday against the undefeated (yellow) Banana Slugs. They played a hard game, but lost 6-12. Norman struck out his first time at bat, and was run out at first on his second time at bat. Simon took this picture just before he connected with the ball.

Norman's final statistics for the season: AB 15, H 7, 1B 4, 2B 3, BA .467, R 2, RBI 4. The Green Machine posed for team pictures before the game; Norman is the stony-faced lad at the start of the back row.
