Angry Hedgie

Spike was not too happy with his bath this evening. I don't think it was the bath itself that he didn't like, but the accompanying nail trimming. He managed to twist and bite my finger while I was holding him for Simon to do the clipping (I'm losing my near vision, so I can't see clearly for tiny close-up stuff). Sigh. No pictures, as Simon and I both had our hands occupied and the kids were asleep. Despite his bad attitude, I wrapped him in a towel and petted him in my lap to dry him off.

Here is is with his guard down, trying to burrow but relatively calm:

And with his forequills raised, showing he's feeling a bit uneasy/threatened:

Spike balled up and huffed a bit when Simon put him back in his cage. It was hard to get a picture, as he was squirming quite a bit when he popped his head out.

Poor little guy has been getting less attention since puppy arrived. I definitely need to go back to holding him more, even if it's just sitting in my lap while I'm at the computer. Perhaps I can convince Snowy and Spike that they're friends, and they can curl up in my lap together. Hah!
