The kids found this little bug outside after school today. They called it a Leaf Bug, and they played with it for several minutes while I got the camera and took a few pictures. It ran across hands and up arms, moving too quickly to get a good picture. The only clear shots I have are from when they set it on a leaf in the yard and let it go.
I just searched the internet trying to discover what type of bug it is. I believe that it's a
Green Stinkbug Nymph. The English call them Shieldbugs, which sounds so much nicer. We handled it quite a bit and didn't smell anything, so perhaps I'll just tell the kids it's a Shieldbug the next time we see one.
