Most of the Turner males spent Spring Break hiking in Tennessee, and stopped by Durham for a couple of days on their way home. As is typical when my siblings and I get together, we took a bunch of random group photos (see photos from their trip in 2009 here).
First the four siblings: Me, Emily, Warren, and Nate. I think we're standing in height order, though we look about the same height due to the slope of the yard. Guess I missed the memo about black shirts, though our pants match by gender (completely unplanned).
Then we added Grand-Pere and Sam, still standing by height I believe (and our pants still match by gender). This is my Dad with five of his six children (missing Isaac who is back in Maine).
We changed to age order, which makes Sam look very tall since he's at the top of the slope and tall anyway. We also changed our arms from crossed in front to behind our backs - yes, we're a bit silly when we take group pictures.
Finally we added the the next generation, or at least the two who were here (missing Nate's son Devin who is back in Maine). This is my Dad with seven of his nine descendants (5 of 6 children and 2 of 3 grandchildren).
Here's one of just my branch on the family tree - with bunny ears. Not sure who was a bigger sport here, my Dad or my kids.
And one of just my family, since we rarely manage pictures of the four of us. Simon took most of the pictures, but Emily's partner Max took this one.
One last group shot of the hiking Turner males (oldest to youngest): Jim, Warren, Nate, and Sam.
And we added Norman to the mix, since he's a Turner male too. He rarely smiles for the camera, but he couldn't keep a straight face once we requested a serious picture and his Uncles struck gangster poses.
