Norman needs to complete some achievements to earn his Tiger Cub badge. They're mostly the activities labeled "Go See It!" in his handbook. He missed the first den trip because we joined late, then we had schedule conflicts with several of the others. Fortunately, he can still earn the badge if we help him finish the requirements by the time Cub Scouts starts back up in August. Simon took the kids to Few's Ford at the Eno River State Park to satisfy requirement 5G: "Take a hike with your pack" (or family in this case).
I believe this sign is from the trail head:

Joking about which way to go on the trail:

At the edge of the footbridge (with one little pig):

Hanging out at the cabin:

The kids decided that it wouldn't be too bad to live in a log cabin -- as long as it had electricity. Yes, electricity is a really good thing. We were without it again this evening from about 8:30 until 11:00. Simon was out, so I folded laundry then read a bit, all to the flicker of a hurricane lantern.
