Ants!

One of Boo's favorite Christmas presents was AntWorks from Grand-Pere and Gramie Margie. The concept of an ant farm captivated her, especially in funky blue gel. But she had to wait patiently for ants. The directions said we could catch our own or order some, but in either case we needed to wait for the weather to warm up a bit so they could be found or shipped. Boo noticed an ant nest outside over the weekend and declared it was time for ants. I decided to order some harvester ants online, rather than risk collecting differing species that don't get along. It might have been more adventurous to collect them, but it was still pretty cool getting a vial of ants in the mail. Not very exciting yet as they're just milling around on the surface, but the directions say they'll start digging within a day or so.
